Need for SPEED! - July 15 >>Learn how to build your dog’s speed in agility! We will work on a variety of confidence-building games, where confidence comes from, motivation, and we will test out what you learn on some short, fun sequences (jumps and tunnels)! (pre-requisite - dog must be active in agility and know jumps and tunnels)
Intro to Clicker Training - July 22 >>Learn all about clicker/marker training! What is it, why do we use it, how to begin, clicker mechanics, starting simple behaviours, shaping intro, some fun tricks! This workshop is great for puppies, new dog owners just learning about training, or experienced dog owners/trainers who want to perfect their marker skills.
Warm Ups and Cool Downs for Agility Dogs - July 29 >>Learn the benefits of warm ups and cool downs for your canine athlete, as well as ideal exercises to perform before and after activity to encourage the best performance and to prevent injury! (Workshop designed for agility, but can be used towards any dog sport). Engagement - August 12 >>Get your dog “in the game” before you even start! Learn how to effectively engage with your dog, and to get their brain ready to go to work. We will cover a variety of engagement tricks, warm up games for the dog’s brain, and also work on offered focus (aka teaching the dog to initiate the focus!). (Workshop designed for agility, but can be used towards any dog sport.) . All workshops are Sundays 9:00-10:30 am to beat the heat, held in Salmon Arm.
