As well as the group classes, there is an opportunity to take some short fun clinics to work on specific skills, or to kick-start your training!

- all dogs and all ages welcome! NO previous training required! - dogs must be able (and comfortable) to work on leash in a small area around other dogs and people. - maximum 10 dogs/workshop. - all Intro Workshops are 2.5 hours long - this includes a ~20 min lecture on positive reinforcement/clicker training, 2 hours of working and instruction, with a few short breaks - all Intro Workshops are $70 for a working spot (you bring and work your dog) and $25 for an auditing spot (you come without a dog).
Intro to Trick Training - Saturday May 6th, 10:00 am Learn the basics of positive reinforcement and clicker/marker training, and teach your dog some cool tricks at the same time! You can also earn your Novice and Intermediate Trick Dog titles through the Do More With Your Dog Program. Skills we will cover in this workshop include: clicker/marker training, capturing, luring, shaping, using props, molding, targeting, adding/changing cues, and beginning chain behaviours. Tricks may include (subject to change depending on entries): 4 feet in a box, paw targeting, nose targeting, spins, roll over, crawl, bow, hoop jump, go to mark, pivoting, paws up, say your prayers, and many more!
Intro to Agility - Sunday May 7th, 10:00 am Have you wondered what dog Agility really is, or want to know more about it? This workshop will give you the basic knowledge and skills to get started in the popular sport of dog agility! Topics will include: about the sport - what is agility?, learning the basics of agility handling, learning the basics of working off leash with your dog, body awareness and strength games for the dog, motivation games for the dog, starting some obstacles (jumps, tunnels, table), and more!
Intro to Rally-Obedience - Sunday May 7th, 1:00 pm Have you wondered what Rally-Obedience really is, or want to know more about it? Now’s your chance! This workshop will focus on teaching you and your dog the basics to get you started in the up-and-coming sport of Rally-O! Topics will include: about the sport - what is Rally-O?, teaching your dog to love heeling, heeling skills (turns, straight, position, speeds, etc), hind end awareness games for the dog, beginning the Novice signs/stations for both handlers and dogs, motivation games, and more! *possibility of adding more advanced stations and drills for dogs and handlers with experience in Rally-O.
- dogs must have had some previous training experience (pre-requisite = Lisa or Kim's Good Manners 1 class or equivalent, or previous Intro workshop). - see each workshop description for specifics on who may participate - all dogs must be comfortable and able to work in a group class environment on (and possibly off) leash. - maximum 10 dogs/workshop. Most likely split into two groups of 5 and rotating the groups. - all of the following workshops are 2 hours long - this includes 2 hours of instruction and working time with a few short breaks. - all of the following workshops are $60 for a working spot (you bring and work your dog) and $25 for an auditing spot (you come without a dog).
Advanced/Expert Tricks - Saturday May 6th, 1:00 pm Build on your trick training knowledge and teach your dog some impressive tricks at this fun workshop! You and your dog will also have a chance to earn your Advanced and Expert Trick Dog Titles (or whatever level you are at!) through the Do More With Your Dog Program. Topics will include (subject to change depending on entries): shaping, building distance and duration of tricks, chain behaviours (longer and more complex chains), problem solving for the handlers and dogs, latent learning, and more! Handlers may choose 2 tricks they would like to learn and/or get help with at this workshop. In addition to these tricks, Lisa will have some challenging tricks chosen from the following list: Sneak/crawl, jump over my knee/arm, jump into my arms, paws up on object/arm, say your prayers, peekaboo, shake a paw/wave, spin left/right, bow, hold an object (in mouth), be shy, leg weave, sit pretty, perch work, roll over, back up, play dead/show your belly, side legs, stand tall, back up, pop-back stand, capture/shape natural behaviours (smile, shake head, lick lips, etc), cross paws, retrieve to hand, put toys away, ring toss/stack bowls, behaviour chains… and more!
You are welcome to mix and match Intro and Other Workshops with one or multiple dogs, provided you meet the pre-requisite requirements.
