SUMMER TRICKS SERIES
The SUMMER TRICKS SERIES is comprised of three 2-hour in person workshops through June to August:
Workshop 1 - Novice Tricks - Sunday JUNE 18th 10 am - 12 noon
Workshop 2 - Intermediate Tricks - Sunday JULY 23rd 10 am - 12 noon
Workshop 3 - Advanced Tricks - Sunday AUGUST 13th 10 am - 12 noon

Workshops will be held indoors on dirt at the Salmon Arm Dog Agility Group facility - 481 5th Ave SW, Salmon Arm, BC. All dogs, all ages welcome! Dogs must be able to work around other dogs! Most tricks can be modified to suit the experience level/physical limitations of you and your dog.
Get your dog titled! Titles available for $20 USD (~$30 CAD) through the Do More With Your Dog Program (http://www.domorewithyourdog.com/trickdog/ - title cost included in workshop cost - see breakdown below). Lisa will witness your tricks AND take care of the paperwork/sending your title in to be approved! All you need to do is pay for the title and train your dog 😊 If you are not quite ready to be signed off for your titles by the end of the last workshop, don’t worry! You will all get an extra 3 months to contact Lisa and finish those titles.

Workshop 1 - Novice Tricks - Sunday JUNE 18th 10 am - 12 noon This workshop will focus on clicker training and trick training techniques. Skills we will cover in this workshop include: marker (clicker) training, capturing, luring, shaping, using props, molding, targeting, adding cues, fading lures, and beginning chain behaviours. Some tricks you can expect to learn include:

Spin Left and Right
4 feet in a box

By the end of this workshop, it is likely that your dog can earn their Novice Trick Dog Title through the Do More With Your Dog program.
Workshop 2 - Intermediate Tricks - Sunday JULY 23rd 10 am - 12 noon We will be focusing on progressing your training skills, and discussing more advanced techniques. Skills we will cover in this workshop include: fading lures, changing cues, how to create solid chain behaviours, advanced shaping (adding and changing criteria), building distance and duration of tricks, latent learning, and more! Some tricks you can expect to learn include:
Jump over arm/leg
Jump through circled arms
Retrieve to hand
Hold object in mouth
And many more!
By the end of this workshop, it is likely that your dog can earn their Intermediate Trick Dog Title through the Do More With Your Dog program.
Workshop 3 - Advanced Tricks - Sunday AUGUST 13th 10 am - 12 noon This workshop will be focused on polishing up previous tricks, and problem solving for any issues that come up! Skills we will cover in this workshop include: longer and more complex chain behaviours, problem solving for the handlers and dogs, stimulus control for tricks, and generalization. Some tricks you can expect to learn include:
Jump into arms
Put toys away
Footstall or Backstall
Reverse figure 8
Trick of Choice! Each handler will get to choose 1 or 2 tricks that we haven’t covered yet to try!

By the end of this workshop, it is likely that your dog can earn their Advanced Trick Dog Title through the Do More With Your Dog program.
- all dogs and all ages welcome! NO previous training required! - dogs must be able (and comfortable) to work on leash in a small area around other dogs and people. - maximum 10 dogs/workshop. - all Intro Workshops are 2.5 hours long - this includes a ~20 min lecture on positive reinforcement/clicker training, 2 hours of working and instruction, with a few short breaks - all Intro Workshops are $70 for a working spot (you bring and work your dog) and $25 for an auditing spot (you come without a dog).
- dogs must have had some previous training experience (pre-requisite = Lisa or Kim's Good Manners 1 class or equivalent, or previous Intro workshop). - see each workshop description for specifics on who may participate - all dogs must be comfortable and able to work in a group class environment on (and possibly off) leash. - maximum 10 dogs/workshop. Most likely split into two groups of 5 and rotating the groups. - all of the following workshops are 2 hours long - this includes 2 hours of instruction and working time with a few short breaks. - all of the following workshops are $60 for a working spot (you bring and work your dog) and $25 for an auditing spot (you come without a dog).
You are welcome to mix and match Intro and Other Workshops with one or multiple dogs, provided you meet the pre-requisite requirements.
